Global Knowledge, an authorized IBM Training Partner, is pleased to announce the launch of our IBM Skills Academy Program.

After a successful pilot in the MEA region, this program is now being brought to Europe and Poland is the first country to be able to successfully implement this. The program is under full authorization from IBM and is executed in Poland with our local partner EITT Sp z.o.o.

What is IBM Skills Academy?

The IBM Skills Academy Program is IBM's premier training and certification initiative for academia in Poland and the broader region. The program provides unique academic roadmaps for faculty members and students, preparing them to succeed in demanding positions unique to the market. The program provides a world class training experience, leveraging IBM official courses, IBM official instructors and hands-on laboratories. The program is starting now and will roll over the next 2 years with Polish universities. It provides many opportunities for both students and universities themselves to get knowledge and experience with the latest IBM technologies.

What career paths are included in the program?

Two of the first career paths we are launching are:

  • Cloud Application Developer
  • Mobile Application Developer

More details about each of the paths:

Cloud Application Developer path

The Cloud Application Developer career path prepares students to develop, build, and test mobile data applications using a cloud platform to build Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. This will require cloud application development skills, such as Node.js, REST architecture, JSON, Cloud Foundry and DevOps services. The Cloud Application Developer will use tools to deploy, run, and manage applications on a cloud platform.

Mobile Application Developer path

The Mobile Application Developer career path prepares students to develop, test, debug, and deploy hybrid mobile applications. This will require mobile application development skills, such as Sencha Touch, jQuery, Dojo, and Apache Cordoba. The Mobile Application Developer will use tools to create and publish mobile applications in public marketplaces such as Android SDK and Xcode, and also in private enterprise mobile application markets such as IBM MobileFirst.
